Vehicle road tax rates are changing.
Register your new vehicle before 1 April to beat the changes.
What is changing?
From 1 April 2017, the Government is bringing in new Vehicle Excise Duty rates (commonly known as vehicle tax or road tax). This means many new vehicles will be subject to higher first year and standard rates, and drivers will also pay a supplementary rate for cars with a list price* over £40,000.
The good news is, this only applies to new cars bought and registered from 1 April 2017. So, if you buy a new smart before that date, you could make significant savings on vehicle tax over the next few years.
To find out exactly how much you could save, speak to your local smart Retailer or view the tax rate changes using the link the below.
All new vehicles bought and registered from the 1st April with a list price* over £40,000 will be subject to a premium supplement of £310, payable each year for 5 years from the end of the first vehicle licence.
