The smart fortwo BRABUS electric drive has been spotted on British shores after making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. A special edition version of the smart electric drive, the BRABUS features a lithium-ion battery.

The current smart electric drive charges to 80% in three hours, or 100% in eight, - setting drivers back a mere £1 per refill. The BRABUS electric drive is expected to improve on thisLime green in colour and decked out with a luxurious full leather interior the BRABUS also features a sound generator to keep pedestrians alert to the otherwise silent electric drive.

Imitating the sounds of a revving V8 petrol engine or, it has been reported, offering some slightly stranger sci-fi sounds alternatives! Although the smart electric drive is set for mass production by 2012, there are no immediate plans to release the BRABUS electric drive version.
