The new smart fortwo. - Even more ecological.
Both the petrol engine versions and the diesel engine version of the new smart fortwo are among the most economical vehicles in the micro car segment. The petrol versions (both the naturally aspirated engines and the turbo engines) consume less than five litres of fuel over 100 km (combined consumption figures: 4.7 and 4.9 litres[2]).
With consumption of just 3.3 litres (combined value)[2] the diesel version consumes even less fuel and achieves the coveted "three litre" status.
The smart engines also boast top figures for CO2 emissions: the smart fortwo cdi emits 88 grams of CO2 and the petrol engines emit 116 grams per kilometre driven (combined values)[2].
It goes without saying that every smart fortwo fulfils the stringent EU4 exhaust gas standard - regardless of whether it has a diesel or a petrol engine. In addition, the cdi is fitted with a diesel particle filter (open system) [1].
